I fell short on my “make sure more than 7 days don’t go by between posts“. I started the post yesterday, but never got to finish it.

I started my new job Monday. I will be in training for the next 3 weeks. I love, love the people there. It makes a big difference when people are in their career, and like it.

Working eight hours a day is so draining. Especially when you’re used to just eating and sleeping all day. So, no website updates. Some days this week I didn’t even open my laptop, lol.

Any WP anti-spam recommendations?

Layout – Thanks for all the positive feedback on my layout. I thought most people would see it as too plain.

Synced – Do you ever feel like you’re synced up with people you’ve never met? I do.

iTouch – I am very annoyed by the term: iTouch. Whenever I hear, or read, it I frown a little. In my head I’m thinking, “Ugh, no! It’s an iPod Touch… iPod… Touch!“. Heh, in my head I’m thinking… Like there’s any other place to think.

Comments – I am no longer approving comments that have nothing to do with the blog entry. Misreading an entry is tacky. But, not reading it at all is just lame.

Sometimes, the irrelevant comment is a random question or statement. But, most of them are a reply to the comment I made on their blog entry.

To be clear, I don’t mind these comments if you also respond to my blog entry.

I know many see blogs as a means of general communication. I do not. If it isn’t about the blog entry, shoot it to one of my contacts.

Alex – There were a LOT of requests to see Alex. I have a huge amount of pictures from the past few months. Here are some I took with my phone.

As I mercilessly roamed around, I noticed a lot of birthday blog entries. They reminded me of how I didn’t post about my birthday this year. And that, reminded me of other important events I failed to mention. And that, made me sad.

I planned to just lay face down on the bed, and mumble obscenities into my pillow. But, this seems better some how…

1. I graduated from college with honors — B.S. in Accounting. Almost all my extended family came to see me walk. We haven’t gotten together in a long time, and they chose my graduation to finally do it.
2. I commenced operation bum-around-and-just-have-fun. Sleeping, Movies, water parks, clubs & bars, parties, shopping, television, chilling…
3. I celebrated my 22nd birthday (gemini). My boyfriend got me a new iPod Touch; my other one was stolen. We went to a nice restaurant, and partied, partied, partied. Other gifts were cute little things and cards.
4. I decided to remain 2,500 miles from home, because I am in love. This forced me to decline a high-paying job at a top 10 university. My mom set it up for me; didn’t even have to interview.
5. I adopted a 3 month old kitten from an animal shelter; named him Alex.
6. I got a post-grad job. It pays about half as much as the one I passed up.
7. I set my blog back up.
8. Currently – Milking my last week of freedom for all it’s worth.

I made this layout myself. It was going to be 100% CSS, but I used a background image instead of colored divs.

This is the first time I’ve had more than one post on the front page. It’s also the first time I’ve used tags. I widget’d the tag cloud too. I guess I’ll start using categories next… And some real plugins. I am only using one plugin right now; Contact Form 7. I didn’t want to complicate things further.

I am so relieved to have this WordPress migration finally done. It took me hours to fix the formatting on all the posts I imported from Cutephp (Cutenews). I decided not to even try to fix the thousands of imported comments. I just deleted them. They can be read in my Cutephp Archive.

All my websites are now pretty much done. They’re listed under projects in the sidebar. OH Avenue needs content, but I created a real layout for it. The other two have been done. At some point, I’ll update their doctypes.

Well, I’m back. I plan to update once a week, and don’t see any reason why I won’t… But, I’ve said this before, lol.

So, I finally added WordPress. I said I would do it, what, five days ago? So, now this website and Dmw have switched. I’m using it only for blogging. I don’t need or want a cms to build my website for me.
I was able to import all my posts, but 268 of my comments were lost. Also, the formatting of the posts and comments are off. I’ll fix the formatting, but I’m not going to add the missing comments, lol.

Recommend a few WP plugins, please…

Name change! I am now using oliviaheart.com. I wanted the name originally, but it was taken. I noticed it dropped, and purchased it right away. Its-olivia.com was too immature for who I am.

I was tired of my old layout. But, I left my Photoshop registration key in my college town. So, I’ll have to work on something when I get back. This new layout is simple, and all CSS.

I have been pretty busy enjoying my winter break.
Any time I spend online has been dealing with my So Pink move.
All the members have been handling it like champs, except for one.

The break has been great so far. Catching up with my friends and family.
My little brother has been getting on my nerves, but that’s typical.

Well, remember when I said I wasn’t taking anyone I dated seriously?
I dropped that fast, and now have a new boyfriend.
Hopefully, I’m not still on the rebound, lol.

Well, I have some accounts to transfer, and we’re going to see the lights later.

I am surviving Finals Week, and flying home this weekend. I can’t wait to get out of this town. Most people are gasping for a break, but I’ve been slacking this semester as usual so…

Internet Explorer 6.0 and earlier do not properly display transparency with .PNG files. There have been fixes developed to remedy this. I found out my .PNG fix was causing all the .PNG files to disappear in Opera. It sucks that no one told me.

I was surprised at the number of people who hadn’t heard of the White House crashers. I wrote about it because it interests me. But, figured it would be a rather tired subject. I even expected a few not this again’s, lol.

Is my comment message box too small?

Does anyone else have trouble commenting on Fanupdate blogs with captcha?
Like your comment never seems to send? Or you don’t get any indication that it sent?

It seems like way too many people have the name Olivia now. When I first started blogging, I was the only Olivia that I knew of. It’s rather annoying to comment on a blog entry, and see 2 or 3 other people with your name. I guess I’ll have to start adding my last name as well.  

In related news, I notice a lot people having conversations via blog comments. I guess some people just want a ton of comments. Even if they are just completely unrelated statements or questions from the same 5 people.

So, what do you think about these White House crashers?
It’s clear the incident wouldn’t have happened if Michaele Salahi wasn’t a skinny White blond. It appears they’re claiming to be invited; despite not being on the guest list, not having a table setting, their limo being turned away at the gates, and all the other evidence that suggests they crashed the party. I don’t think they did any harm, but it’s just so darn embarrassing. I hope they get some sort of slap on the wrist.

Titles are rather hard to come up with. For those less prone to rap, this “title” is a line from Ice Cream Paint Job by Dorrough Music.

Ever listen to a song 15316753 times… Looked up the lyrics… Realized some of the words are different than you thought… And liked your “version” better? Really? Well, that’s me right now.

I briefly touched on my ex-boyfriend in my 11/11/09 blog. It’s crazy, after awhile you forget you’re being controlled. Being “free”, I take pleasure in so many little things. One of my friends carelessly asserted I should just be grateful there was no abuse. I’m not sure I’d like to continue a relationship with someone who minimizes my past grievances. Would you?

My statistics for this website are so awful. I really need to get it back to where it was. 100 unique visitors a day just won’t do; won’t do at all.

I was looking on the Yahoo! front page for an interesting topic. I saw ‘Underwater’ housing markets, and thought: Finally! We get to buy housing in the ocean! This is going to be so cool! It was an article about mortgages that leave people owing more than their property is worth.
